Hello again.
We have had a good week on the whole,
a few mishaps like hub catching a weird virus
and suffering with a nasty sore throat
oh and the mortgage company trying to take
the monthly money when there was none
a couple of days too soon.Of course it was just a mistake
but a bit of a shock when they rather over zealously sent a repossession order, the little loves!!
We sorted it out easily enough and is all paid now.
Not sure why the colours changed.
Oh well!
It's been great going out and playing every day, that walk to Grandmas was good, the kids would probably disagree and not agree to the two hours of walking again quite so readily. They did enjoy the soaking from the fountains at the park, yeh for
sunshine!
We made lunch for Nan and great Gran today, then got all the scooters and skates and headed to the park.
The kids chatted to an older lady walking her poodles and a rescued Yorkshire Terrier, such a nice lady and full of local knowledge and wisdom. She asked the boys about school and they told her about home ed she loved it and said she thought it was fantastic,we need more people like her!!

Another day....
I'm not that good at uploading photos, they are either too big or too small.
Oh well.I do like that photo of my eldest and youngest son. It was taken last year at the beginning of our new year of learning and I suppose it is quite apt to finish with that photo.
They have both grown incredibly!! R our eldest child is now the same height as me and my husband!! I guess that's not difficult as we are both only 5 foot 4. He is fairly tall though,he's 11 and a half and has very hairy legs!! I cannot believe how he's developed and changed in what seems like just a few short years. It does make you think.
We have now declared a break of any organised work and we are free to enjoy the summer so we are on holiday. I know the learning never stops and we do a lot of outdoor stuff and other activities, but a complete break from normal routine I'm sure will do us good.
I will probably do more cleaning and catch up on the non essentials you can't see!
It is always interesting to see how the children manage their own time,it never ceases to amaze me how they end up doing their own learning activities,it just happens naturally. We like to have a looooooong summer break. The education doesn't stop it's just different.
We had a great time out the other day at a victorian museum/leisure park. About 30 people came men, woman and children!! I organised it,very scary. I would do it again though, even though a few people were late and the guides were a bit stern at first.
It was a great day though and only rained whilst we were under cover having strict lessons with the threat of the cane in the school house!
We also got to dress up,including me,although I didn't like the hat so I changed it!! We had a gorgeous carriage ride, only thing was the horse was really lazy so a girl had to peg it with a feed bag like the clappers to get him going, bless him! He was a beautiful shire horse.
The weather's a bit iffy isn't it? Planning on walking to the other side of the city to visit Grandma tomorrow, with a picnic in the middle.
Enjoy the week whatever you do!!

All in a days work!!
Finally we've finished decorating our bedroom. It sounds very nice to be decorating ones boudriore (bad spelling) but it has been a neccessity not a luxury. We had the huge bedroom at the front of our house and were forced to vacate by our 3 sons desperatly busting out of the average sized middle room.
It causes sooo much chaos.
But hopefully playing musical beds will pay off eventually. I must admit I love the new decor in our room it's very pretty.Everyone will have a new room.
Hub has had a couple of days off,its been great to finish the above and grab some much needed little breaks when he's taken the kids off to the park.
Hub and I also had a coffee date today at the very posh shopping mall, lovely for about an hour and a half.
I was not planning on spending any money, but came back with a cute pair of dungerees with hearts and flowers on them for darling daughter and some gorgeous teddy bear soft leather shoes for a friends bubba.
I couldn't resist popping into Lush for two "Ickle baby bath bombs",at only one pound each I decided I should have two!! That last shop was too tempting,it's on the way back to the carpark and the smell is very aluring.
We had tea at mum inlaws, wonderful to have someone else cook, what a blessing. The kids adore Grandma and Grandad,so its great to have them in the same City.
Someone from the community radio I'm involved with has asked me to do a desert island disk type thingie. It entails writing a brief biography then choosing 5 songs that have meaning for me and being interviewd, yikes!!
Maybe you could inspire me and do your own desert island disks,go on help me out!!

Hello it's very nice to meet you!!
Thought I'd have some creative artwork courtesy of my nine year old son,pop art or something!!
So my first post on my new blog, very exciting.
I'll do a brief waffle about us. We are a Christian family with 4 extremely diverse creations, our kids. They vary in age from 2 to 12, 3 boys and 1 girl.
Our journey in parenting and becoming a family has had its challenges and delights. It is an adventure I'd repeat though!
It has been very, very hard but also unexplainably rewarding at the same time. I have certainly lost a lot of pride and ridiculous idealism along the way, thank the Lord for that, hey!!
We as a family are deeply passionate about home ed and the rich difference it makes to all our lives, even our extended families enriched because of it.
I tend to be a bit of a DIYer',birth, education, health and also church as we are part of a home church. We are also involved in local christian community radio (I do announcements, tee hee!!) and my husband works for a real grassroots christian media business. We are also looking to set up our own resource serving business to the home ed community here, which is ever growing.
I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to keeping up with other home ed families on this ring. Please say hello if your visiting,I'd love to get to know your blog.
I guess as far as learning goes we are pretty eclectic and spiritally devotedly focused. We use themes and learn around them with lots of creative freedom, sounds good eh?!!
Enjoy the rest of this weekend with its delightful weather!!
